Glencoe: Sarel Cilliers High sells pink milkshakes in memory of Kylie

Bianca said the response on her Facebook post was so overwhelming that she decided to set up a special Facebook page called 'Pink Milkshakes for Kylie'.

Kylie Quinn Kruger died in a tragic car accident at the age of two on December 14, 2018. Her mom, Bianca, posted a message on Facebook last year on her birthday, asking friends and family to enjoy a pink milkshake for Kylie.

“This was a way of remembering her birthday, and pink milkshakes were her favourite. Every Sunday after church, we would go out for milkshakes and both she and my mom loved the pink ones the best,” explained Bianca Kruger.

Bianca said the response on her Facebook post was so overwhelming that she decided to set up a special Facebook page called ‘Pink Milkshakes for Kylie’. This year, when the coronavirus pandemic broke out, Bianca decided to make pink and blue buffs with the ‘Pink Milkshakes for Kylie’ logo on them. In a time when many people have lost their jobs and are struggling financially, she decided to contribute to Meals on Wheels with the money raised from the sales. Sarel Cilliers’ students and staff supported ‘Pink Milkshakes for Kylie’ by proudly wearing their pink masks. The tuck shop sold pink milkshakes.
