Vryheid SAPS arrested several suspects for possession of illegal substances recently.
The first suspect to be arrested had 250 straws of heroin and 117 grams of pure heroin powder in his possession, the estimated street value of which is approximately R32,500. The second suspect was arrested while transporting narcotics comprising 22 packets and three large packets of methcathinone (CAT), 36 pieces and four large moon-shaped pieces of ‘rock’ cocaine, and 32 packets of crystal methcathinone.
The CAT weighed in at approximately 333 grams, with an estimated value of about R145,000. A third suspect was arrested during a sting operation and was found in possession of nine packets of pure heroin powder, worth approximately R27,000. The total value of all the drugs recovered is about R204,500.
