A person is informed that a vacancy exists at the local municipality and is invited to apply for it.

The only condition is that the job seeker is expected to pay a sum of money to the scammer.

“Anyone who comes across this information or was contacted by this gentleman on behalf of Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality should know this is bogus. Any person who was approached or has paid money to this man should report the matter to their nearest police station,” said Municipal Manager Mr Mkhize.

He advises locals to disregard any further communication in this regard, saying that the municipality has procedures and protocols when advertising vacancies.

“Residents are reminded that recruitment for employment is done through advertisements and internal human resource processes,” he added.
