Lindela Morris Zikode a former security guard was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for attempted murder.
On July 14, at Ladysmith Magistrates Court, Zikode was declared unfit to possess a firearm and sentenced to eight years imprisonment. This follows an incident that happened on July 29, 2015, on Diamana Road, where the former security guard attempted to kill his former girlfriend who was also a security guard.
According to Sergeant Marina Mynardt the former lovers called things off in 2015. Morris tried calling his former girlfriend who did not respond to his calls and this angered Morris.

After she failed to answer his calls, Zikode went to her workplace where he attacked and shot her using his work firearm. He was arrested a day later.
