Police are on scene in the quiet neighborhood of Drakensview after a man was shot dead less than an hour ago (August 12).

Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicate that a taxi driver was travelling along Roland Hellet Road, on his way home when he was repeatedly shot at.

The man was found shot dead in the taxi on the side of the road.

There were a number of bullet markings on the taxi.

A source on scene said the murder might be taxi-related.

Police are currently on scene, combing the surrounding areas for clues.
