Ladysmith community members take action and clean their own street

A TLB was hired to scoop up all the unsightly rubbish lying around

Bombay Road residents have been fed up with what they perceive to be poor service delivery in their street, with the municipality not cleaning any part of the roadway or the vacant land in the area.

A few residents recently took matters into their own hands and cleared up the mess themselves.

They hired a TLB to scoop up the unsightly rubbish lying around.

With all the refuse and bottles in the dense bush of the vacant land, residents feared that it was an ideal hideaway for criminals and illegal dealings.

This proactive clean-up campaign was launched after numerous complaints to the municipality fell on deaf ears.
