Sheep stolen from truck on the N3

The driver stopped at a garage to fill up with petrol at about midnight when he was allegedly approached by two strangers

The carcasses of eight sheep were stolen from a truck that was travelling along the N3 on July 24.

The driver stopped at a garage to fill up with petrol at about midnight when he was allegedly approached by two strangers.

“While he was inside his truck, the suspects approached him and pointed a firearm at him. He was robbed of his two cell phones,” said police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.

The truck driver was then instructed to drive into a nearby bush where the suspects forced him to open the truck’s trailer.

The suspects stole the carcasses of eight sheep before fleeing. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured.
