Bikes roar in aid of ABH, Glencoe

The old age home recently fell victim to an armed robbery

Bikers gathered this morning for an informal day ride to Ladysmith to raise money for Glencoe’s ABH Home. The Home recently fell victim to a robbery where staff and residents were left traumatised when three armed men entered the home on the night of July 17 and threatened staff and the frail residents.

A nurse was struck on the neck with a firearm. The robbers also removed the security camera boxes. The robbers got away with R2000 in petty cash and tried to take  a TV that was left outside.

The Home is now looking to beef up security but as it is dependent on donor funding , the Home is looking for assistance, both financial and practical, to help boost security.

It was this mind in mind that the Just Cruising Motor Bike Club arranged the bikers run that includes bikers from Dundee, Glencoe, Newcastle and Ladysmith.

Following a speech and prayer by Fanie Terreblance of the Family Crew Club, the riders left for the Total Oasis Garage, Ladysmith, to meet up with the other participating bikers.

Anyone else wishing to assist the ABH can do so via EFT or cash deposits to the following account: FNB, Cheque account. Branch code 250655. Account name: ABH Fund Raising Account.
