Stock theft escalates to murder

The younger man died at the scene, while his friend was shot in the hand

While on the trail of alleged livestock thieves, one man was killed and another wounded in KwaDlamini, Ntabamhlophe.

An injured man went to Ntabamhlophe police station at 1am last Tuesday, relating to police that his friend had been killed by a group of men they suspected of stealing cattle from the Phakathi’ s kraal in Hlathikhulu.

The 42-year-old explained that he and a 20-year-old were following the men shortly before they were shot at.

The younger man died at the scene, while his friend was shot in the hand. Police were led to the crime scene, where they found the deceased.

Cases of murder, attempted murder and stock theft are being investigated by Ntabamhlophe police.

 

“Police request anyone with information to contact them on 08600-10111 or make use of the ‘MySAPS’ app,” commented police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.
