As part of their on-going Covid-19 disaster management, Gift of the Givers provided help to the community at Midway Farm in Estcourt last Wednesday (July 22).

The small, close-knit community was surprised by a delivery of food hampers and blankets, which were offloaded by Jaaved Khan, Gift of the Givers representative of Estcourt, and his team.

“It’s a very close community, and they are extremely protective of each other. They are all related, and even their dwellings are in close proximity to each other. They’ve been supporting one another through the COVID-19 crisis, and the donation from Gift of the Givers has made a significant impact for them,” said Ande Antoniades, who photographed the occasion.

The food hampers were distributed to the adults, and each member of the community received a blanket. For the children, a lovely surprise was presented – each received a special bag of goodies.

“Jaaved Khan is a very dedicated and hard-working person. He made sure everyone felt comfortable. He even added a special touch by handing out crayons to the children,” added Miss Antoniades.

After much jubilation from all the community members, a member of the community thanked Jaaved Khan and his team on behalf of the community, expressing gratitude and happiness for the generous donation.

“The continued efforts by Gift of the Givers are providing vital support to local communities. They have made a significant difference in not only bringing warmth and relief to one more community in our nation but also by uplifting the people during this difficult time,” Miss Antoniades said.
