Which ‘fibrehood’ is coming to Newcastle first?

Britelink has broken ground, intending to lay fibre optic cable in around five weeks.

Britelink has broken ground on a project to propel Newcastle into an age of faster Internet.

The company, 50 per cent owned and effectively contracting for Vumatel, estimates it will take five weeks to connect 800 homes to a fibre optic network – opening the door for high-speed browsing.

Read more about the project and the benefits of fibre in this week’s edition of the Newcastle Advertiser.

Britelink has also released a map of so-called fibrehoods, highlighting which parts of Newcastle will be linked to the fibre optic network and potentially benefit from the new infrastructure.
