Ladysmith KZN: Covid-19 weekend numbers surge past 200

You have reason to be worried!

With weekend stats of over 200 Covid-19 cases, Ladysmith residents have reason to be worried.

One doctor reported over 30 confirmed cases this weekend, making Ladysmith the epicentre of the pandemic in the uThukela District.

Since the national lockdown began, Ladysmith has had a staggering 1200 confirmed cases – most of that number coming in the last week or two… This while uThukela as a whole has only had just over 2000 cases since the beginning of lockdown.

If you fall into the high-risk category, avoid travelling where possible and maintain social distancing.

A mask is a must!

The latest stats follow hot on the heels of two deaths being reported at Juana Maria Old Age Home. Currently, the home has 11 confirmed cases among residents and three among staff.
