uThukela temporarily closed for decontamination

The public is required to stay away from the building

An uThukela official has tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19), which has resulted in the main office building being temporarily closed.

“uThukela District Municipality would like to confirm that a municipal official has tested positive for Covid-19. Thus a decision has been taken to temporarily close the uThukela main building at 33 Forbes Street/ 36 Lyell Street with effect from July 23 until all health and safety protocols have been conducted, including the decontamination of the building,” reads a statement released by uThukela acting municipal manager Mr Khuzwayo.

The statement continues that: “We urge all employees who render services at the main building not to be on duty in their offices with immediate effect, but they may continue to work from home as required. Employees will return to their offices on Monday, July 27.”
