Ladysmith Licensing Department closes after employee tests positive for Covid-19

Municipal employees and the public are urged to stay away from the building until further notice

Alfred Duma Local Municipality has confirmed that a municipal employee based at the Licensing Section (Public Safety) has tested positive for Covid-19.

The decision has been made to temporarily close the Licensing Department with effect from today (July 20) until all health and safety protocols have been conducted, including decontamination of the building.

The municipality urges all employees who render services at the Licensing Section not to be on duty as from Tuesday, July 21, but may continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to the building.

The public is also required to stay away from the building until further notice.

More information and updates regarding the re-opening and resumption of services will be communicated to the public in due course.
