Car catches fire on Pieters road

A Mercedes Benz caught fire on the Pieters road yesterday afternoon (Friday, July 17).

According to the driver, the vehicle (a 2004 Mercedes Benz) started overheating and smoke began pouring out into the car on the passenger side. He pulled over, and he and his three passengers jumped out of the car.

Looking underneath the vehicle, they were amazed to see flames.

By the time a fire engine from the Ladysmith Fire Department arrived, the car had been totally gutted by the fire.

No one was injured in the incident.
