A massive runaway veld fire is wreaking havoc on the N11 and the R602 tonight (July 13).
The fire is ‘running down’ both sides of the N11 in the Elandslaagte area.
Farmers are battling the blaze, which is spreading quickly due to high winds.

Visibility is very bad on the road due to the thick smoke swirling in the air, so motorists are urged to be cautious.
It is believed that farmers in the area had to cut their fences and let cattle out to escape the fast-spreading flames.
