Lubanzi heads for super stardom

Lubanzi wants to heal the nation with her music

Sarel Cilliers High School Grade 12 learner Lubanzi Mazibuko (Bash) is passionate about music and wants to encourage the youth to defy all odds and achieve their goals.

This is her story…

“I began singing in a church choir at the age of nine. As cliched as it may sound, I think church is where most superstars are bred. Even Beyoncè and Mariah Carey started their musical careers in a church choir.

The church choir built my confidence, cultivated my voice and matured my vocals. I then began singing in the school choir. My hard work paid off and I was later given solo parts.
This is when my music career began to grow and I ended up in a studio a couple of times. It’s not as easy as people make it seem. It requires hours of dedication and resilience, and so much effort goes into making my music.

“I plan on going to Emendy to further my studies as a musician; a musical school that has produced multi-talented artists like DJ Maphoria, who is a renowned DJ and has several hit songs under his belt. I am really grateful to my school, my mom, my family at large and my best friends.

I believe that my voice can change the world and heal the nation. I want to pave my way as one of history’s greatest musicians of all time. I know this requires a great deal of work ethic and energy, but I plan on being the best.

This is my story and I am yet to be the biggest star this world has seen. To the youth out there, ‘Forget about the fast lane. If you really want to fly, harness your power to your passion. Honour your calling. Everybody has one. Trust your heart, and success will come to you’.”
