Well-known farmer hit and killed by taxi while burning firebreaks near Ladysmith

A well-known farmer was killed this afternoon (July 6) on the Besters road.

It is believed that the farmer was busy burning firebreaks at the side of the road and had just gotten out of his bakkie when a taxi crashed into him.

The man was sadly killed on impact.

The taxi was fully loaded with passengers at the time of the incident and was travelling towards Ladysmith.
