Zululand District Municipality (ZDM) has commenced with a project of lighting up Vryheid and eMondlo in the fight against crime, but also to clean up the town and invest in energy saving.

A total of 300 energy-saving LED streetlights will be installed in Landdrost, High, President, Church and Small streets, and an additional 300 will be installed in eMondlo. The project is ongoing and ZDM is working in collaboration with AbaQulusi Local Municipality.
