Pipe break leads to water outage

Residents are asked to be patient while a team carries out repairs

Many Dundee residents woke up this morning to find that their taps were running dry.

A 450mm diameter main water pipe burst on Diaz Street, off Karel Landman Street, which led to the outage.

“This is the main water supply line from the Biggarsberg Water Treatment Plan to the Dundee town. Most of Dundee will be affected as this line brings most of the Dundee water from the water plant. The team is busy with repairs already,” said Nomonde  Nzimakwe, Umzinyathi District Municipality Communications officer.
