Driver injured as truck overturns near Besters

Emergency personnel, Public Safety, RTI, police and a towing service responded to the scene

A truck driver was seriously injured in a crash on the R103 yesterday morning (Tuesday, June 23) near the Besters turn-off.

The exact cause of the crash is unknown at this stage. What is known is that a truck carrying maize meal overturned.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Speaking to the passenger, he says he doesn’t know what happened, as he was asleep.

The driver was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical attention.
