“We’ve had quite a bit of rain since last night,” she commented. “Three nights ago, the temperature dropped to -13,2 degrees Celcius! We had huge issues after that with burst water pipes flooding some of the homes in our area.”

While information received has indicated there has been snow in Memel, resident Trevor Barnes said nothing has happened there yet.

“It’s raining here – we’ve had about 4mm so far. Snow has been predicted but we have not had any yet. The present temperature is 2 degrees Celcius and I think there could be a good chance of light snow or sleet,” said Barnes, who is currently huddled into a swathe of blankets to fight off the chill.
