SASSA re-open their offices, after being closed due to Covid-19

The tests conducted on all affected office officials in Ladysmith have returned negative

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that the Covid-19 tests conducted on all affected office officials in Ladysmith have returned negative. SASSA offices in Ladysmith will re-open today (June 10).

According to KwaZulu-Natal SASSA spokesperson Sandy Godlwana, SASSA offices will be providing services from 7.30am to 4pm, as follows:

  1. Monday and Tuesday: Applications for Old Age Grant only.
  2. Wednesday and Thursday: Applications for Child Support Grant and Foster Care Grant.
  3. Friday: Applications not processed on Monday and Thursday.

Godlwana added that SASSA card issuing, PIN reset and replacement of cards will be done at the South African post office. No children are allowed in the SASSA offices and it is compulsory to wear a mask at all times.
