Grade 7s and 12s report back to school

Learners appeared excited to back to school after almost 12 weeks

Grade 7s and 12s learners reported back to schools on a frosty Monday morning. Uelzen Primary’s staff were ready to check the temperatures of all teachers and learners arriving.

As per legislation, all pupils and staff were wearing masks.

Classes are being held in the school hall to allow for more social distancing. Other Grades are expected to school on alternate days once the Government allows these grades to return.

Uelzen Principal, Mrs Bruyns, said most learners had come to class but expected an even better attendance once parents feel more confident about sending their children to school.

There was a brisk turn out at Ethangeni School that accommodates Grade 7 and Grade 12 classes. There were two classes of each Grade accommodating 20 pupils in each class so to ensure social distancing requirements are met.

There was a festive atmosphere at Dundee High with eager Matrics appearing glad to see their friends and even their teachers!

All the necessary requirements were in place.

DHS headmaster, Mr Haschke, and Mr Devereux were at the front gate to receive a combination of anxious and excited learners armed with masks, sanitisers and their books.

More news from other schools is expected as the day progresses.
