SASSA official tests positive for Covid-19 in Ladysmith KZN

Both the Midlands District Office and Ladysmith local office had to be closed

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) offices in Ladysmith have had to be closed for decontamination after an official working there tested positive for Covid-19.

“Please be advised that there is a confirmed positive case of Covid-19 at the SASSA Midlands District Office. Note that the Department of Health has been requested to test all officials and while awaiting the results, these officials will be in self-isolation,” said KwaZulu-Natal SASSA spokesperson Sandy Godlwana.

Godlwana added that the district, working together with facilities management, has arranged for the decontamination of the SASSA building. Thus, the Midlands District Office and the Ladysmith local office both had to be closed.
