SANTACO in the Zululand District is preparing itself for inter-provincial travel as schools re-open on June 8.
According to SANTACO chairperson Sibusiso Zwane, they will be sanitizing all taxis, minibuses and buses that transport schoolchildren in order to ensure safety.
“We need to ensure that the kids are safe. Therefore, we will be sanitizing all taxis, minibuses and buses that transport school kids. This will not only be for the re-opening of schools, but we will continue to sanitize transport every now and then, and we will also ensure that all school kids have masks on before boarding the transport. Those who do not have masks, we will also supply them, as we have been doing to our passengers. Additionally, we will retain the number of learners in our transport, as we have been doing with our other passengers,” said Zwane.
Travel to other provinces has been allowed, with limitations, according to Disaster Management Act: Regulations: Alert Level 3 during the Covid-19 lockdown.
