Residents clean up after serial litterbugs

Tired of litterbugs constantly dumping in the area, residents of the Craigieburn area embarked on a clean up  over the weekend.

With the aid of a TLB, they were able to clear away the mess left behind by rampant littering in the area.

Hundreds of alcohol bottles, household garbage and paperwork from a mining company are among the items dumped in the area on a constant basis. With no skip bins in place, or signage prohibiting the act of dumping, the litterbugs have continued unabated.

The municipality also attended to the area after being informed of the matter and promised to monitor the situation and clean up regularly.
