State of Main Road a major concern for Ladysmith motorists

People say it's a ticking time bomb and an accident waiting to happen

Main Road in the Ladysmith industrial area is a major concern for motorists, with massive potholes and unfilled areas in the road surface.

The roadway was resurfaced back in 2017 and has never been the same since.

Gaping potholes and patches of dug-up tar make it difficult for motorists to negotiate.

One motorist commented that Main Road is a ticking time bomb and an accident waiting to happen, as cars have to drive in the oncoming lane to avoid all the holes and barely make it past vehicles travelling towards them.

A business owner commented that four years is a long time to leave a road in the industrial area in this state of disrepair. “Who will pay for the damages to our tyres or if an accident happens due to the potholes?” he asked.

Motorists and business owners alike hope the road gets fixed soon, as four years of problems is long enough.
