Ladysmith lass Mmangaliso Gumbi talks about life after Idols SA

"The sky is the limit for me"

Talented singer Mmangaliso Gumbi talked to the Ladysmith Gazette today (May 21) about her life and musical journey after being an Idols SA finalist last year.

The pop sensation from Watersmeet made it into the top 10 of popular South African music competition Idols SA and was finally eliminated after reaching the top 7.

In an exclusive interview with the Ladysmith Gazette, Mmangaliso says she is set on “growing” herself in the music industry. She is currently planning on releasing an EP (extended play), which is basically a mini album.

“After being a finalist on Idols SA, which is the biggest South African music competition, I’d say I have grown so much as a woman and as an artist. I believe in my talent and I know that my voice will take me places. Thus, the sky is the limit for me,” says Mmangaliso.

She continues that, “I’m busy writing songs I want to include on my EP, which will consist of four tracks. Hopefully at the end of the lockdown, I will start recording the songs. I’m also doing auditions for acting.”

Mmangaliso added that she is planning on going back to varsity next year to further her studies.
