A kudu crossing the road on the bypass near Ladysmith KZN shortly before 7am this morning (May 19) was killed when it was hit by a car.
The VW Polo sustained extensive damage to the front end.
The kudu was killed outright.
A police vehicle travelling behind the Polo was forced to swerve to avoid a collision.
As it swerved into the oncoming lane, the driver of the vehicle spotted a cyclist heading towards him and was forced to desperately swerve back.
The end result saw the unmarked police vehicle spin and veer off the road, going backwards.
The cyclist was forced to dive off his bike to avoid being killed.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
