Heroes are all around us…

The next blood door clinic is today at St James Church

These heroes include the doctors, healthcare workers, SAPS, Correctional Services officers, paramedics, security officers, and workers at offices and supermarkets that were permitted to stay open during the level 5 lockdown, that ended on May 1.

But there are other heroes too! Like the many ordinary folk who came out to donate blood at the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) clinic which was held at St James Church. Despite the lockdown, the clinic collected 48 units of much-needed blood. The donors included educators like Marlie Bruyns, policemen like Captain Roshan Banawo, barmen like Xolani Nxumalo, and retired teachers like Alixe Fraser.

The next clinic will be at the St. James Church today, May 1,1 from 1pm to 6pm.
