My father raped me for years, says stepdaughter

The girl had at least five miscarriages, which she told family were induced by her stepfather

According to a family friend, a man started molesting his stepdaughter way back in 2017 when she was only 16 years old and in Grade 10.

When the mother went to town to collect her blood pressure pills, he would take the opportunity to repeatedly rape the girl while the mother was away from home. The young girl says she pleaded with him to stop, but he replied that he had a right to because he was the one who had raised her.

Shockingly, the girl had at least five miscarriages, which she told family were induced by her stepfather, who gave her pills to abort the babies.

This real-life horror story came to light one evening when the young girl’s mother caught her husband hitting a girl who is a friend of the daughter, but also stays with them in their house. When the mother asked him why he was beating up the girl and tried to stop him, he allegedly turned on the mother, beating her and calling her “stupid”.

It was then that he allegedly told the mother that her daughter was pregnant. He then stormed off, allegedly taking the young friend with him. Later that night, the daughter confessed to her mother that “my stepfather has been raping me”.

“A case was opened against my husband for assault and two separate rape cases by my daughter and her friend on Thursday, April 23,” said the wife of the suspect.

Ladysmith police communication liaison Captain Bongani Nyathi confirmed that the suspect had been arrested.

“The accused was denied bail in his first court appearance for assault. He is faced with three charges; two of rape and then there is the assault charge,” said Captain Nyathi.

The suspect appeared in court on Tuesday (May 5) for the assault case.
