Mr R Naicker, teacher at Dannhauser Secondary, is this time focusing on the impact Technology has.
Topic 1 : The Positive Impact Of Technology
Natural (Coming from the environment around) or Raw materials. They come from Plants, Animals or the Ground. They have been replaced with machines because of the development of technology.
These new and improved materials have been processed from natural materials to improve the quality of our lives. Synthetic Materials or Man-Made (It is chemically processed or manufactured by people, looks like or imitates a Natural Product – example: Nylon)
Some of these are Biodegradable( Able to be broken down naturally – example: Cardboard)

Technology can impact us in the following ways:
1) It can provide us with useful products.
2) Impacts on the environment if these products are biodegradable.

Activity 1 – Natural and Synthetic Materials.
1)List three examples of natural materials.

2)List three examples of synthetic materials.

3)Give two examples of the positive impact of technology.

4)Summarise in your own words what you understand by how technology impacts us in a positive way.
