Disinfecting of ‘hotspots’ ramped up in Endumeni

Premier Zikalala has called on efforts to be ramped up to stem the spread of the virus

The Endumeni Municipality has started sanitising ‘hot spots’ in the municipal area in a bid to keep  at bay, the highly contagious and often deadly Covid-19 virus.

Phumlani Ntombela, Endumeni Disaster Manager, said the Municipality had reacted swiftly to Premier Zikalala’s call for the ramping up of efforts to stem the tide of the pandemic in KZN.

“Shopping areas, taxi ranks and other hot spots where people frequent. This will continue. The disinfecting is done after hours,” he said.

This morning, officials from the Departments of Human Settlements and Agriculture teamed up with Mayor Mdluli and Councillor Hope Xaba and a group from Dlamini Village, temporarily hired to spray disinfectant in the informal settlement of Dlamini Village.
