Opportunistic criminals are ‘watching you’ during lockdown – police warn

Cases of robbery were reported along the R103 as well as the Princess Park Bridge

Police are making an appeal for locals who are travelling for essential shopping or work to be vigilant as opportunistic criminals are pouncing on victims.

Captain Bongani Nyathi, police spokesperson, said that cases of robbery were reported along the R103 as well as the Princess Park Bridge.

“People must stop entertaining the streets kids. Some of them are criminals that are watching their movements and their belongings,” warned Captain Nyathi.

In other cases, criminals are claiming to be herdsmen when approached by police and Captain Nyathi urges stockowners to encourage herdsmen to carry identification.
