Covid-19 screening to begin in Lennoxton today

Two teams from the Department of Health will begin mass screening from today.

The Department of Health has confirmed, through Ward 3 Councillor, Matthew Shunmugam, that mass screening for Covid-19 will begin today.

According to correspondence, there will be two teams on the ground in official Department of Health vehicles, and these officials will be clearly identified by their name tags.

The teams will start on Hathorn Street today (April 8), then proceed to St Thomas Street from 10am. Tomorrow, teams will cover Fernwood and on Friday, Sunset View.

UPDATE: According to Cllr Shunmugam, the teams will be conducting door-to-door interviews and asking the four vital questions.

“Depending on the response, they will advise further. This is screening, not testing,” emphasised Cllr Shunmugam.
