Motorists had to produce their permits that allowed them to enter the province

In compliance with President Cyril Ramaphosa, uThukela District Municipality Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko participated in the Uthukela Security Cluster’s ‘Joint Operation Lockdown’ along Van Reenen’s Pass at midnight on Thursday, March 26. The operation consisted of roadblocks being set up.

He also thanked all security personnel for their dedication to serve and protect the people of our country.

Members of the public who went through the roadblocks had to produce their permits that allowed them to enter the province. This was to ensure people’s safety and to curb future transmission of the virus in the district and KZN province as a whole.

Community members are advised to strictly adhere to the rules of the lockdown, as outlined by the president and Command Council.

The message is: “Staying at home will save and protect lives”.
