Orange Grove Dairy owners reflect a year after fire

Dairy owner, Dave Durham has thanked everyone for their support in a special tribute.

It’s been a year since a devastating fire ripped through Orange Grove Dairy; a day Dundee will never forget.

On the anniversary of the fire, dairy owner, Dave Durham has thanked everyone for their support in a special tribute.

“One year ago today, a devastating fire destroyed our factory, burning down over 90 per cent of our production, warehouses, fridges, laboratories, raw materials and finished stock.”

He continued, “Today, thanks to the overwhelming goodwill and support of our customers (retailers and consumers) the dairy industry, our dairy farmers and many suppliers, our friends, our families and our amazing Orange Grove ‘Can-do Team’, we are able to dream of a great future while we continue to build. We still have a long way to go – our challenges are far from over and there are no guarantees of success.”

Mr Durham said Covid-19 brought with it even bigger challenges and the need for greater unity of purpose, but commented the dairy was fortunate to be able to earn a living while helping to feed fellow South Africans in lockdown, with the ‘Goodness of Dairy’.

“Tango Pro Plus, our Dairy Fruit blend now with added probiotics and vitamins, is yet another positive step into our bright future. Your belief in Orange Grove, our products and our team has made it possible to keep dreaming and building our future together,” concluded Mr Durham.
