Shop owner, Samuel Mulongoti has decided to look at the positive side of things, in trying to survive the 21-day national lockdown.
Samuel’s shop operates in Madadeni, Section 3, and he explained that although he might be losing business, he was hopeful things would soon get back to normal.
“I don’t get as many customers as I used to since this coronavirus [outbreak] began. You have one or two people coming in at a time, but they are also afraid and quickly buy and go back to their homes. I have many [items in] stock here that I’m afraid will expire if not bought soon,” he said, looking visibly dejected.
It’s day four of the lockdown and Samuel said he had made the choice to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.
“People are mostly getting essential stuff, like bread, snacks and tinned foods. I am not going to focus on the bad right now; I just hope this virus is soon handled by the Government. I am grateful that people are at least still coming in, even though it’s at an enormous decrease.”
