Tatham Street closure the result of fuel spillage

A trailer with an engine generator reportedly overturned, causing fuel to spill onto the road surface.

A diesel spillage is the cause for the closure of a portion of Tatham Street this morning.

According to sources at the scene, a trailer with an engine generator overturned earlier, causing fuel to spill onto the road surface.

Traffic officials closed the road from the Tatham/ Victoria Street intersection and the corner of Tatham and Oxborrow Streets, to allow for a team from Disaster Management to clean up the mess.

Numerous residents panicked when they saw the road closure, assuming it was worse, but thankfully the situation was not as serious.
