Swimming: On January 27, Liam Wentzel participated in the Umzinyathi Gala, held at Wembley College, Greytown.
He achieved the following results: 100m butterfly – gold; 100m freestyle – silver; 50m breaststroke – silver; 50m butterfly – bronze
Line dancing: On Valentine’s Day (February 14), the Grade 4 to 7 learners of DJS had a line dancing evening. Everyone learned some new moves and the evening surely caused a lot of excitement and giggles!
Athletics: On February 15, 52 DJS athletes participated in the Umzinyathi Athletics Championships.
The DJS learners and teachers enjoyed every minute of the Watermelon Festival, where each learner could eat as much watermelon as they wanted.
There were four different ‘stations’ where learners could slip-and-slide and have lots of fun.
It was a dirty and sticky affair, especially caused by sneaky learners attacking and rubbing watermelon on their teachers! Dit was ‘n onvergeetlike dag en DJS sal sommer gou weer so maak.
