Ladysmith SAPS has a new station commander

Brigadier Alexander has worked his way up the ranks since he enlisted in the police in 1987

Brigadier FB Alexander is the new Ladysmith station commander.

Brigadier Alexander is no stranger to Ladysmith, having served as the Acting Detective Commander here in 2012.

He enlisted in the South African Police Service (SAPS), then known as the police force, in 1987 and has worked himself up through the ranks ever since.

He served in Newcastle, Vryheid, the Amajuba Cluster Office and Madadeni until he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier in the Western Cape.

Brigadier Alexander has vast experience in the Detective Service and Visible Policing environments.

He holds a National Diploma and a Bachelor’s Degree in Policing, having attended several internal as well as external workshops and courses during the course of his career.

He is a family man, a husband, a father and a grandfather who prides himself on keeping fit. Needless to say, he loves his job and serving the community.
