Gazette staff get in on Shavathon shenanigans

Most opted to spray, while a few brave men went all the way and not only shaved their heads but their beards too

Mortimer Toyota in Murchison Street held a successful Shavathon last Friday (March 13) in their showroom.

A large number of staff and members of the public showed their support by either shaving their hair off or spraying colourful stripes.

Ladysmith Gazette staff were there as well and cheerfully got in on the action. Each and every ‘hairdo’ was accompanied by a donation to fight cancer.

Most opted for the hairspray, while a few brave men went all the way and not only shaved their heads but their beards too. Funky hair colours and shaven heads was the order of the morning, eliciting much laughter and friendly chatter among all present.

Many Toyota staff members not only did the shaving and spraying, but got into the ‘hot seat’ themselves to have their hair done as well, all in good spirits.

The day was enjoyed by one and all who attended, with everyone feeling proud to have helped fight cancer in some small way.
