‘Rabbit Run’ postponed until further notice

"We regret to report that the Rabbit Run is postponed until further notice."

The fundraising ‘Rabbit Run’, which was due to take place tomorrow (March 18) at Grey Goose Game Lodge, has been postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Representatives of organiser, Strong Like a Girl issued a statement earlier today, stating it recognises ‘the importance of being prepared for public health emergencies, and was taking proactive steps in this regard.

“After discussions with all parties involved, due to the President’s recently declared National State of Disaster, including gathering restrictions, we regret to report that the Rabbit Run is postponed until further notice. We would like to convey our appreciation for your support of this event and will make an announcement on a future date as soon as we are able to.”

The statement continued:

“With regards to the COVID-19 outbreak, although outdoor training runs a lower risk than smaller indoor spaces, it is still critical to be mindful and practice extra hygiene measures during this vulnerable period. Training outdoors in the sunlight and fresh air does assist your immune system, but it is important to remember that excessive training can also strain your immune system.”

Residents have been urged to stay safe and utilise these tips:

  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Eat good quality food.
  • Supplement your diet with Vitamin C.
  • Prioritise recovery and avoid training if you are not feeling well.
  • Avoid personal contact while training and also ensure that shared equipment has been sanitised.
