Sarel Cilliers sport teams sizzle

The girls and boys first hockey teams qualified for the finals against NHS, which came down to penalties.

Sarel Cilliers’ action cricket team played against the Hot Steppers last Tuesday night.

Sarel batted first and managed a total of 111 runs. The best batting partnership came from Mr Adam and Mr Joubert, who scored 37 runs together.

Hot Steppers came in to bat and won comfortably by 42 runs.

Action galore at Spur tournament
The annual Spur netball tournament was held at Ferrum High School on Saturday. The Sarel Cilliers first team and under-16s took part. The u-16s played valiantly but could not muster up a win in any of its games. The first team played extremely well, going all the way to the semi-finals.

Hope Mkize received the Woman of the Match award twice in the tournament and Luyanda Ximba took the Woman of the Match award once.

High spirits on the hockey pitch
The well mannered, high-spirited Sarel Cilliers hockey squads have been applauded. The u-16, first team boys and first team girls participated in the Spur tournament held at Ferrum High School on February 21 and 22. All teams played their hearts out.

Both first teams qualified for the finals against NHS. The games both went to a penalty shootout and both first teams fell short, coming out second respectively.
