Exciting news for Ladysmith: Spioenkop Dam is at 100%
At the start of the week, the dam was 88.5% and the level rapidly rose
We have some exciting news today (February 13)… Spioenkop Dam is at 100% yet again.
After months without much rain in the catchment area, the dam started losing water each and every day.
However, farmers in the area noticed that water was coming over the dam wall on Wednesday morning (February 12), which means it’s full to the brim.

This is great news for everyone, especially the farmers, not forgetting the fishermen who enjoy going to the dam.
The dam was 88.5% at the start of the week and has rapidly increased to 100% with all the rain that’s been falling.
