‘School shoes to conquer the world’

"Last year, we were able to donate blankets to the needy and this year we have decided to donate school shoes."

Endumeni Motorsport Club has donated a total of 300 shoes to 50 underprivileged learners from six primary schools in the area.

Prithi Harripershad and Shaiel Chunder, who represented sponsor, Chans Transport and the club respectively, were accompanied by Endumeni Mayor, Sduduzo Mdluli, Ward Councillor Zwane and municipal officials on a visit to Ebusi Combined for the first set of donations.

The other five beneficiaries were from Glencoe Primary, Dundee Primary, Emphathi Combined, Endumeni Primary and Enyanyeni Combined.

Shaiel said he felt elated when he saw smiling learners receiving their school shoes:

“This is an ongoing initiative. Last year, we were able to donate blankets to the needy and this year we have decided to donate school shoes. We hope the Endumeni business community will also support this initiative, so we can donate more shoes to more schools.”

Ebusi Principal, Mr Nala, thanked sponsors and Endumeni Municipality officials for visiting the school and lending a helping hand to the destitute.

“Thank you so much to Endumeni Motorsport Club and Chans Transport for this donation. We are glad that even though our school is part of a small town, we have not been forgotten.”
