Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Dr Joseph Shabalala passed away earlier this morning (February 11).

The heartbreaking news has sent shock waves throughout Ladysmith and the country at large.

It is believed that he passed away in hospital in Pretoria after a long illness.

This music legend and icon was a pillar of strength and role model to all those who knew him.
