The top section of Lyell Street and parts of the CBD are currently closed to traffic due to flooding.
Streets are water-logged after the heavy rain that fell during the night.
Public Safety officers are in the areas of concern, directing traffic and making sure that motorists don’t drive into the water.

The water level of the Klip River has increased drastically and people are advised not to go near the banks of the river.
Children are warned not to cross low-lying bridges or attempt to cross rivers, as they could get swept away.
