Elusive lion still on the loose
A massive search operation is still underway for the big cat.
There is still no new information on the whereabouts of the lion, spotted outside Dundee yesterday.
SAPS, members of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and farmers in the area -backed by aerial support – launched a search for the ‘big cat’ yesterday and plans were made to dart the animal.
This plan would have made use of a carcass to lure the lion out, so it could be darted and captured alive. However, this operation has proved unsuccessful.
Currently, there is no information on where the lion currently is or where it came from. The predator had earlier killed a calf on a farm about 10km from Dundee.
